TLC Taekwondo was formed in October, 2000 when the new recreational center opened at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. TLC Taekwondo was created with one goal in mind: to provide martial arts instruction in a Christian environment. We are located at 955 Johnson Ferry Rd in Marietta, GA and you can register for classes directly with JFBC.
The instructor of TLC Taekwondo is Master Terry Wassink and she can be reached at 770-378-8432. Terry is a 4th degree black belt certified through the Kukkiwon in Seoul, Korea through the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF). Terry served as an assistant instructor in Houston, Texas at Rogers’ Martial Arts and at Eastside Taekwondo in Marietta, GA. Terry is a member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.
TLC Taekwondo is part of the Universal Martial Arts organization under Masters William and Candy Lenix. Master William Lenix is a 7th degree black belt in Moo Duk Kwan Taekwondo, and 7th degree black belt in Moo Sa Do (Way of the Respectable Warrior) and also holds 6th degrees in judo and jujitsu. He was inducted in the Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2000 because of all of his contributions to the martial arts. Master Candy Lenix trained her entire life in Muay Thai growing up in Thailand and is also a 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo. Their son, Mitt Lenix, is a 4th degree black belt in Taekwondo and is an eight time national champion in Taekwondo.
Taekwondo not only provides a venue for competing, but offers so much more for its students. Taekwondo develops a student’s motor skills and coordination. Taekwondo boosts a student’s self-confidence and self-esteem. And Taekwondo teaches self-defense, in this ever-changing world around us. But best of all, at TLC Taekwondo, we teach the Christian values through the martial arts.
